I'm sorry, that made me laugh soooo hard. Ok, I'm still laughing. Sorry..I understand panic and who knows what I would have done. It was the other lady's fault, so I'm sure she's happy mom hit n run, so to speak. I"ve watched Judge Judy and know if it's your cart, it hits, dings, smashes into someone else or their car, you are liable. Mom's in the clear 100%!

Yes your mom could get into trouble for leaving the scene of an accident, because someone's property was damaged in the incident. However, you mom had no reason to be afraid if see stayed. The other person was obviously the one at fault for negligently letting their cart stray into the driving lane. This presumes that the cart rolled away and your mom didn't have the time to avoid the accident. If your mom saw the cart and didn't attempt to avoid the accident, then perhaps things get gray. But, nonetheless, it was only groceries she hit.

I don't think that is illegal. I know that you can't sue the store if the shopping cart hits your car. There are signs in the parking lots that say, they are not responsible for cart damage to your car. So unless they got your license number, since they weren't watching their cart. Watching their cart is their responsibility, not yours. But if it was an accident, I don't see any problem. As long as the cart and the groceries were fine....

By law, if there were any eggs harmed or destroyed during the hit, the chicken mafia will come looking for you.
I'm just kidding, but since Wal-Mart is on private property, the police can't cite another because they don't have the authority to do so. Remember, any public places, whether it's restaurants, shopping malls, grocery stores, or whatever, police can't issue citations because of the fact it is on private property.

Yes Bylaw 3338:987 says anyone leaving the scene of an unattended shoping cart collission should be arrested then pelted with grapes for fifteen minutes . They should then by driven by a priest to the house of an Evatar Shrunk and stay there until they are cleansed totally . Then , theyave to stand in a post office for two hours - Thats it - not too bad .

In the US, parking lots are private property. Therefore, it's between you, the owner of the cart, and the lady who was negligent in controlling the cart.

Depends on the state as far as the technicality of the law, I'm sure, but given it didn't involve another vehicle or significant property damage, probably not.

no, it's all good.
look at all of the people who cant even aford to buy anything; and who purposely steal them to keep all of their posessions in them. They dont get in trouble. I'm assuming your mom was a paying customer, who accidentally hit it.
I'd say Yahoo, hit the gas, and be done with it; but my drivers liscense is revoked; so
