Did anyone find this movie really depressing, and love the last line about having no friends like you do when you're twelve?

I love that movie. I found it depressing, particularly when I watched River Phoenix, and saw how beautiful and talented he was, and how tragic his life turned out. How odd that his character died tragically too.

Great movie! It was funny and sad. The last line was so true. I remember all my friend when I was 12 to 15 years old. Have trouble remembering the guy I served with in the Navy when I was 20. One of the great thing about the film was the sound track, that was the music of my young teen years.

It is sad, all of those kids were really talented. This is in my movie collection, and will always be.
