Have you ever made a turkey before? Making all of Christmas dinner is expensive. Go price a turkey. Perhaps reconsider. Either offer to make the veggie sides--mash potato, sweet potato, green bean casserole, cranberries, and a couple of desserts. You can do all that for less than $50.

Or volunteer to get the turkey or the ham. But making all of the above is at least a couple hundred dollar, several day event no matter how you slice it. There is no way to make an entire traditional Christmas dinner that isn't expensive and a lot of work.

Well depending on how many people are in your family i would say maybe a turkey at a local butcher shop!! Then maybe just go to the grocery store and get a an of corn some carrots some squash rolls and potatoes!! It also depends on the size of your family and there tastes but i would say that would be easy!!! And for dessert maybe just buy a pie or make a chocolate cake on the side of the Hershey's coco box and frosting on side of confectioners sugar!!

GOOD LUCK AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

A holiday meal is going to require some work, you know. Jeesh. Food doesn't cook itself.

You have one of two options - buy stuff that is already mostly prepared - like the pre-stuffed turkey and pre-made mashed potatoes and such - and spend more money. OR...

Buy stuff you have to cook from scratch and spend less money, though not much less. If you aren't feeding a huge crowd, go for a chicken rather than a turkey.

Honey-Baked Ham, or pick-up ready made from the grocery store. They offer up a lot of these "to go meals".

If picking it up is cost-prohibitive, I would cook a turkey breast instead of the whole turkey. It's cheaper, cooks faster, and remember the 1 pound per person rule. That'll be enough to feed them.

Whole backed chicken Macoroni, and some veggies you can't go wrong. Cut the chicken in half so it cooks faster and then mix butter with seasoning rub the chicken with the butter season mix and then put in the oven for 30 minutes.
