india has political problems with every border,with pakistan, china, nepal and bangladesh.
the massacre of Sikhs in 1984 and the killings of muslims gujrat in 2002-03 , also the killings of budhist and christians happened many times there.
india has been voilating the UN resolution to hold a refrendom in kashmir.
more than 700000 indian soliers still in action in kashmir.

I guess that depends on whether you are an Indian or Pakistani.
But they are both friendly toward the U.S., they both have nukes (India developed them first). Oh and India is developing a nuclear, blue water navy (aircraft carriers and nuke subs). As for why they don't like each other, it comes down to how Britain drew up their borders, they both have territorial claims on Cashmere. The Brits drew a lot of borders this way. Border disputes between subject states are alway useful to those running Empires.

With very few exceptions, sides of a conflict can rarely be classified as "good guys and bad guys". In this case, they are powerful neighbors that are very scared of each other....very dangerous stuff.
Let's hope the good guys on both sides of the border prevail and bring tensions down and trust up between both peoples.
