I DON'T think that Obama's skin colour is relevant or important to his politics. I only mentioned it because it is still an issue for some unreconstructed and not very highly evolved Americans, and also, because of this, that his victory will be a groundbreaking event. I'm much more interested in his sensitive and articulate grasp of global and domestic politics and I suspect that given the right support, he could restore the global and domestic reputation of the USA to it's former 'land of freedom' status.

I don't think the skin color of the President will have any impact on the image of this country. Neither will the president's gender.
Bear in mind a politician is a politician. It doesnt matter what their skin color, gender, religion, etc is. Obama, however, will not be our first Black President...so I guess we will just have to standby and wait.

What do you mean "once great " country? This country is more respected now than it ever was under, oh say, Bill Clinton.
Why do you think Iran suspended its nuke weapons program in 2003? It's not because we politely engaged them and asked them to. It's because they saw that we could reach to the other side of the world and take out two threats almost simultaneously.

Because most of those African countries are Muslims or Left wing wing dictators. It isn't the race it is their policies and their agenda's.

I would say that it would depend more on what he did while he was in office rather than what color he or even she is. You could also ask the very same question about the one female candidate. What do you say?

That's it, bash and denigrate people whom you don't agree with. How utterly enlightened.

For the record, this is still a great country, regardless of how guilt-ridden the fevered liberal minds may be.

Yes, if the racist whites don't kill him first.

If Obama is elected, racist whites will kill him before he takes office.

That is what they do to successful blacks.
