Yeah, as per Sutherland, CA is trying to boost up the viewers of the Test Match Cricket. Sutherland has said that CA would try to host one within a decade and try to bring a new vision to Cricket. But the ICC needs to approve this, if it has to be implemented.
There has been a big criticism on CA on trying to change the traditional game of Cricket. One of the biggest criticisms is that playing in Day/Night matches will provide unfair playing conditions to the players when the ball gets wet in the night due to the dew in the outfield. I think its a very big decision, and I feel ICC will play safe and keep the game on its tradition by rejecting CA's request!

I do not think day and night matches will increase attendance in test matches.

I think it has a lot to do with maintaining Joe Average's interest in the game as well. A lot of us would miss out on seeing it on TV as well if it was all daytime because we have to work. It's great to get home and be able to watch the 2nd innings at least. If I couldn't do that, it would be hard to remain enthusiastic if I had to wait for the highlights on the news.
I love D/N cricket.

Sorry mamouth dude, dtgp knows almost everything but confesses to not knowing the motivation of others. generaly speaking, dtgp prefers to play cricket on a dart board, not on a field where guys are actualy throwing at him! Here in the U.S., virtualy all policy decisions made by professional sports are revenue related.

it extremely is a step in the excellent course. the only draw back I see at present day is production a ball which will final 80 plus overs like the present attempt tournament balls. apart from that concern, super thought. no desire then for video games to be shortened using sunshine.

It probably is, but here in Australia where it gets SO hot in summer, it would be a blessing to people who don't enjoy the sun. I suppose that goes for all hot countries.
