you could do it in your bath tub, that way when you are done washing them, you can drain the tub and they can stay there to dry

I wouldn't run them through the dishwasher, they will scatter, fall to the bottom and the heating element will burn some of them (then you'll have a real mess).
Take a 5 gallon bucket, and fill it with warm water and add about 1 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup of detergent (dish or laundry), then pour the Legos in and let them soak for about 1/2 hour. Rinse them in clean water and let them dry.

1. buy or if you allready have one, put them in a nylon bag you know those ones you use to wash your stockings in the wash, any way put them in those bags
2. then put them in the dishwasher, no bleach and not a setting of heated dry , this is a no no they will melt
3. put them in as many cycles as you need them too be..then you can air dry or pat them dry?

No, but just let them soak in the bath tub with bleach and soap. Then clean them.

You can soak it in a big bucket of bleach and water solution and then wash it with soap and water.
