All the democrats talk about is taxing the wealthy. But, we have never heard a liberal definition of wealthy. If you and your wife earn over a hundred grand combined, is that wealthy?
I want everyone to pay the same per cent of their income, no one supports ultra welathy people to pay no tax at all. The perception that people who make 500k+ per year, don't pay any tax or not a reasonable per centage, is a liberal myth.
People who hit the lottery in the multi-millions have to give close to half of their winnings to the IRS, up front. How do they pay zero tax, comrade liberal?
Liberals prey on poor people, using "class envy" techniques to exploit people who are emotionally and intellectually limited.
The same people who are obsessed with class envy are the same people who have no problem that close to 50% of all wage earners pay no taxes at all- free highways, free schools, free defense, etc.
Why don't libs support a flat tax?- its really about promoting socialism

dinodino- I'm talking about federal income tax; it's a fact that close to half of wage earners don't pay much of any income tax

Slappy JK! Thanks for making sense. There is so much " BushWhacking " going on that I feel as if I'm on a wild animal hunt, and some Democratic proposals are tantamount to socialism, starting with Pelosi and Reid. The tax cuts have fueled the economy, there is a higher gross product, more people working, less unemployment more home ownership. So if more taxes are levied on the rich, tax breaks thru capital gains are eliminated for the middle class who gets whacked the most?

I agree that Democrats use "class envy" to attract voters. On the other end though who have republicans using "class fear" to attract voters. In the 60's they were opposed to busing now they are opposed to gay marriage. Global warming is to the Democrats what terrorism is to the republicans. Neither party wants to take a stand on any real issues so all they talk about is global warming (there had been plenty of ice ages before we were around), terrorism (being afraid of backwards people living in caves, 9/11 was a tragedy but in reality how much threat do you pose if you have to hijack an airplane to kill a relatively small amount of people), gay marriage, and abortion. The Flat Tax is a great idea but its to high. the fact is that majority of our tax money should be going to the states, with a smaller portion going to the feds. The 15% sales tax on all new goods and services should go to the states, with the feds getting the 7 to 8% most states get. The federal goverment should be providing defense and regulating interstate commerce, and that is it! If we lived in a society were states made more decitions we would have a populice that was more satisfied with their goverment because they could "vote with their feet." The federal goverment strong arms the states into compling with its wishes by withholding funds, which will only stop when we stop giving the federal goverment all our tax money.

Ya why is it the Dem-wits always talk about the good of the people and all they ever want to do is TAX @ TAX and spend? they hadnt even taken back congress more than two months before they all started doing the hallilujeah dance and wanting to pass the greatest single tax increase in American history. Well Hallilujeah DEM-WITS it didnt even make it to the table!----Im for the fairtax system rather than just a flat tax. Its a much more fair and broad based "consumption"tax. And it has already begun to gain momentum in the house and senate. Remember our so called "representatives" are our servants and must serve our wishes and interests. FairTax.org wants to force this issue before congress no later than 2010 and with the overwhelming support of the American people congress cannot say no!! JUST DO IT!!

PS If you mean income tax then say income tax in the first place! Not "no taxes at all" ! All wage earners pay payroll tax which is around 12%, Sales taxes etc. and at least some income tax. Big difference from your original statement!
