"Jurors deadlock in 6 of 7 defendants in Sears Tower plot"

MIAMI - One of seven Miami men accused of plotting to join forces with al-Qaida to blow up Chicago's Sears Tower was acquitted Thursday, and a mistrial was declared for the six others after the federal jury deadlocked.

The mistrial means prosecutors will have to decide whether to retry the six men.

The outcome was a setback for the Bush administration, which had seized on the case to illustrate the dangers of homegrown terrorism and trumpet the government's post-Sept. 11 success in infiltrating and smashing terror plots in their very earliest stages.

Lyglenson Lemorin, who was not the alleged ringleader, was acquitted.

Nice freedom of speech in the US of A.:

"The judge, who imposed a gag order on all lawyers in the case, refused a request by Lemorin's lawyer, Joel DeFabio, for Lemorin to be allowed to speak with reporters after the verdict.

This whole terror thing is a predetermined plan to take rights from people and give more power to the government.

Just like water boarding does not produce true answers, it makes people fill in the blanks so people in power can carry out acts of injustice, in the name of freedom.

Yes i do, because a liberal would have ignored the case completely and then when the Sears tower fell tried to blame the" vast right wing conspiracy". I feel much safer with a president that actually takes the defense of America seriously. Not one that was briefed about an attack in 96, did nothing for 5 years then passed the buck to a Republican. And whats really funny is watching Democrats spinning and twisting to blame Bush for their mistakes.

Let them go, who needs the Sears Tower anyway? Who needs western civilization for that matter? Let the terrorists win, lets see what life is like back in the dark ages. It should be fun.

George Bush is the busiest President in history. Now he is a prosecutor. You need to point the finger elsewhere in this case. And yes, I feel better with another Republican. They won't be as apt to hand over the country.

Why is this a Bush screw up? Was he prosecuting the case or micromanaging what was goin on? Maybe it is a reflection on a society that does not want to upset Muslims and who think we actually deserve to be victims of terror. Sicne the Dems are hell-bent on giving terrorists the same rights as American citizens, it is only going to get worse.
And yes, I do feel much safer with Bush than I would a traitor like Kerry or a nimrod who believes his carbon footprint is worth talking about.

I am glad this happened. If you want to go after the real terrorists, look no further than the George Waterboard Bush Administration. I am betting the government can't make its case here. It did not seem as if the government had much of a case.

I'm having trouble finding the connection between this trial and President Bush.

How is Bush personally responsible for anything that occurred, from the investigation to the arrests to the prosecution?

He isn't.

I never knew that President Bush was the lead prosecutor in this case. Wow, this guy is busy.

The liberals have him leading the wars in Iraq and Afganistan, a first responder to hurricane Katrina, failing in saving the entire world from pollution, failing in stopping China and India from driving up our gas prices (oops according to them he is the one raising them), etc.

When is the guy ever not at fault for something? When you flactuate in public is he responsible?
