Alriight, I know there are tons of topics about this, but I am a 13 year old wanna be actress. I DO take acting, musical theater, and voice lessons already. There are very few community theaters. I live in Pittsburgh, PA so if someone can recommend me a theater that has open auditions for a teen my age, it would be much appreciated.

Well, you'd have to look these up since I am not familiar with the geography of Penn, but Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs is auditioning for their entire season which includes Queen of Bingo, Run for Your Wife, Smoke on Mountain Homecoming, All Shook Up, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, Always Patsy Cline, and the annual Christmas and Murder Mystery shows. You'd have to ask if their production of Joseph will include a children's ensemble and if they are auditioning for that at this time. I am not familiar with all of these shows but there is nothing for you in Millie or Patsy Cline. Those auditions are Jan 7-9, 2008.
The Media Theatre in Media, PA is auditioning for Buddy (The Buddy Holly Story) and The Full Monty (the only child role is for a boy), auditions are Sunday. I don't know "Buddy" so I don't know if there are roles for you. You'd have to find out.
Hedgerow Theatre (Media, PA) is casting Kafka in the Hedgerows Monday night. This is an original work so I don't know the characters in this.
I suggest getting your local newspaper, looking at shows playing and looking up the theatres. If their websites don't have audition info, call and ask where they post their audition info.

Also, since you are in these classes, network with other students and ask yourteachers. Surely someone must know where to audition or everyone is taking classes for nothing.

The Pittsburgh Musical Theater at the Byham Theater has summer musical programs that call for young actors. Check them out for open audition information.

Alright, the problem is that you are 13 and there are very few roles for 13 yr. olds. There are a ton of community theatres in Pittsburg. Pittsburg Musical Theatre just did Annie last Oct. where the heck were you? . You are just going to have to wait until there are auditions for a teen. Now there may be a youth theatre group in town that you could join. Saltworks Theatre Company, for example. They do a youth production every summer. Maybe the real problem is that your parents aren't in on your wanting to be an actor, because the only way you can succeed at it is to have your parents support you and work hard finding you opportunities and training and eventually an agent.
