is there a high chance that i will react badly to the anaesthesia??
How long will it take me to fully recover from the anesthesia??
are there tests which are performed before the anaesthesia to check that you are suitable for it...if so what do these involve??

Your feelings are understandable! Has your Doctor gone over with you what will happen when you arrive? You have probably been told not to eat or drink (even water) for a certain amount of time before the procedure. This is for your safety so you will not vomit. They may give you a sedative before they take you in to surgery or they might not. You can discuss this with the anesthesiologist who will come in and talk to you and give you a quick exam before the operation. The anesthesiologist will ask you how much you weigh so he or she can measure how much anesthetic to give you.

When you are taken into surgery, the anesthesiologist will place a mask over your mouth and nose and just breath normally. You will drift off to sleep and wake up in the recovery room. A nurse will be with you when you awaken. You may feel nauseous after you awaken, tell the nurse if you are. You will be groggy right after surgery but this will soon wear off. You may be a little tired the rest of the day so just rest or nap. You will be able to eat soon afterward.

Everything will go really well and we all wish you the best!

I have had many operations and I am anxious each and every time - hard to tell you to just relax. You must have had presurgical testing prior, and would not have been cleared for sugary if the were any problems. The anesthesia takes effect so quickly you will not know what happened. When waking up you will be groggy and thirsty, that will not last long. Your surgery should not take too long, therefore the anesthesia will not be to strong. So, try to relax....

General or Local anesthesia means they are only going to numb the area where they are going to be working on you. The chances you might develop a reaction to the anesthesia are greatly rare dont worry, if by any chance you have a reaction they can counter react the reaction. Good Luck hope everything goes alright.

Don't worry. The doctors are professionals and they don't want anything to happen to you. They will take good care of you. You should wake up from the surgery in just a few hours. They try not to give you any more than you need. They base that on your weight and other factors. There is a really low chance of anything bad happening. The anesthesiologist will talk to you before the surgery. You can tell him you are scared and he will tell you why you don't need to worry. Good luck.

All you have to do is be honest with the anesthesiolotist who WILL come and talk to you about what he/she is going to give you. I've had a LOT of surgeries in my lifetime and the only time I had a bad reaction was just a headache afterwards....and it wasn't that big of a deal. They know what they're doing and you will be constantly monitored through the entire surgery...they can see if your heartrate goes up one a minute -- don't worry. They can fix just about anything while you are under. You have nothing to worry about -- I promise.

dont stress it, i know what your going through. before i got anaesthetic i was freaked out but its really not that bad. you may react, it could cause stomache upsetness or headaches but nothing serious, ussually if its you first time recieveing anaesthetic you will react yto it.. it ussually takes about 24 hours to fully recover from it. no tests that i know of but they might give you some then wait about an hour to see how u do then continue. good luck.

Nothing will happen, it it were too much of a risk, then your parents may not have even recommended it. Anasthesia is not that big of a deal, and after the surgery, it will go away.

You are going to be FINE.
You won't even remember.
Just don't eat for at least a few hours afterward.
Take a long nap instead.
