Our land lady ddnt pay back the security we deposited in florida,although there wasnt any dammage to the house,even her realter has asked us to file a case against her in small claim court now we have moved to nevada.. isit possible to file a claim here for the Florida issue?

the claim would be for $1200 ,she never talked to us about the amount she is cutting or anything.. according to law they have to inform situation about the security with in 6-12 months or the tenant is eligible to have all the security money back.

You MUST file in Florida. If the claim is large enough you may be able to get a lawyer thru the Fla. Bar to handle it on a contingency.

You need to file in Florida.

Actually, Florida landlord/tenant law allows the landlord 15 days to return the security deposit if no damages are being claimed. The security deposit/itemization must be sent within 30 days if the landlord is deducting damages.

As the claim arose from a transaction that occurred in Florida, the case would have to be filed in Florida
