seems to happen every 15 minutes or so - almost like there's a power-saving feature I can't find

Sounds like your screen saver is set to blank screen.
Right click on your desktop screen select properties select screen saver and change it from blan to what ever you want.

This is a good thing to conserve power and prevent LCD burnin.
To disable
Right click desktop and click Properties.
Click Screen Saver Tab and click Power Settings.
Set Turn off Monitor After to never or 1 hour

I certainly have a greater cutting-edge computing device and the only way for me to return out of hiberation is to push the skill button. If i'm in stand by way of, in spite of the fact that, all I ought to do is click the mouse and the computing device comes returned on. in spite of the fact that it does not artwork that way for hibernation.
