I didn't start thinking about it till a couple of years ago when I damaged my knee so badly I was housebound. I felt old as I dragged myself around, and I vowed when I had my knee replacements I would get fit again and make sure I looked after my health, I don't ever want to feel that way again. Now I feel great again, and I've only had 1 knee done so far. I'm 57 by the way.

No, I didn't dread it, but I do remember thinking (having been born in 1950) that reaching the year 2000 would be like something in science fiction!

Yes, in a sense I did, but I didn't really think about it that much. Getting older sort of creeps up on you. In my head I am still 19 years old, even though I am 54 years old and a grandma and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

No, I really don't dread getting old, it's a natural process I'm told.

Now how young are you talkin' about? I really didn't even consider it anything I would even think about until about 5
years ago when...like Roxy, my knees blew out and I couldn't run, work out, or dance fast anymore. But even then I only felt older physically, not mentally or emotionally. Now I'm on my way to getting back in shape like I was back then and once again I will consider myself a Cougar. (wink)

Those of us who were born in the UK just before and during WW2, grew up to be the first teenagers, had Rock and Roll, started new fashions...thus we will never grow old. Those born just a few years earlier remained clones of their flat capped fathers and were old by 20.

Not really. I turn 60 in March and still think of myself as young. Now if I were to turn 80, that would be a different story, then I would think I was nearing middle age!!!

No, but then again, I didn't realize the ache and pains that came free with the ride! For some stupid reason, I just that I would be the same person, just older....boy was I out to lunch!

I never thought of it, and I don't now. I am 71 and I still work full time 4 days a week. It is better than sitting at home vegetating.

When I was around 8 years old I though that over 30 was too old and close to death. Now I look at my parents who are almost 70, and they don't seem old at all.
