I'm not trying to offend anyone here. I truly am curious of this.
The beat I speak of is approximately:

I am a Caucasian in a predominately Latin neighborhood, and half the cars that drive by blasting music are pumping this exact beat, with at least a hundred different sets of music and lyrics to it.
It makes me think this genre is the least creative I've ever heard. Maybe you can enlighten me.

im hispanic i say the same thing..mainstream reggaeton has the same beat and its annoying...but there are sum songsz that dnt like..Baby Ranks n Notch's song Verme..very island feel to it
