in order to be a stick-shift..

An automatic is an automatic regardless of the number of gears. An Automatic is normally put in D or Drive to go forward and it shifts through the gears with out any further effort on your part. A stick shift, on the other hand, requires you to depress a clutch pedal move the shifter to the next gear position and release the clutch to reconnect the engine to the transmission.

It is an automatic with 4 gear ratios. Some automatics only have 3 ratios, same as many as 5 or 6.
