I almost always bring recyclable shopping bags with me. In the event I do not have one, paper because plastic is terrible for the environment.

Plastic bags come from oil, takes 100 years to break down
and when it DOES break down into oil products, they get into
the water table and pollute it. That's if the animals don't die choking on them first.. they're clogging up the forests anywhere there's people..
