My total grocery bill today was the stated amount above.
Since I do not favor the numbers, I put in a loaf of sugar on the bill, to make it $8.50 total.
Has this happened to you , and what did you do?

I worked as a cashier for a couple of years and had this happen on NUMEROUS occasions when ringing up groceries. One time it was kind of ironic; I had this customer come through that had purchased $6.66 in groceries. She immediately decided that she needed to run back and grab some "item" that she had forgotten. She returned to the register with a couple of items, and when I rang her up her total had come to $13.34. She paid me with a twenty, only to have her change pop up on my register as $6.66! She insisted that I keep a penny of her change.

Then...my next customer, and I kid you not, came through and and after I had rang him up and taken his money, HIS change came to $6.66. He yelled "awesome!", loud enough to turn several heads in the store.

Most of my customers would pick up some candy next to my register when their total came to $6.66, to change the total. When their change was $6.66, most of them would insist on me keeping a penny of it. When I've been on the receiving end of it, it's never bothered me. I've always paid what came up the first time, and accepted all of my change.

1. Coupons 2. Sales 3. Gardening 4. Eat appropriate portions. 5. Don't let food go to waste. 6. Get creative with leftovers. 7. Don't eat out but once a month. 8. Reduce sugar and use protein as the basis of creating meals and snacks that satisfy hunger and not stimulate it. 9. Use your freezer wisely. You can vacuum seal up veggies for stirfrys etc. 10. Generic labeled foods are not bad. Pick wisely. 11. Look around at local options. 12. Somethings bought in bulk will save you money. 13. Drink more water and less beverages like juice and soda. 14. Does your grocery give money back if you use your own eco-friendly reusable bags? 15. Do you have a market that you like that you walk to? Save gas money and use towards your grocery bill or better yet get with moms you know and car pool. These are just a few ideas. :)

It means nothing. When I worked at a Subway (I was 16, my first job), at least ten times a day the cash register would ring up 6.66 because the tax on a certain sandwich with chips and a drink would come up to that. No big deal. Nothing ever happened to me. If Satan exists why would he care about a grocery bill? It's kind of silly.

The number 666 appears in the biblical book of Revelation in a particular context, to symbolically describe a very specific crisis. Neither the biblical author nor any serious scripture scholar has ever asserted that the number is a general "bad luck charm."

Otherwise, what conclusion would you be coming to? That the "beast" that is to persecute the church is.....cash registers? grocery stores? food? money? ( or a more interesting choice: capitalism?)

I would just pay the bill and not worry about it.

But since you bought the sugar, I hope you at least make some yummy desserts with it! :)

I'd be excited and believe it's a lucky day for me....

I'm not superstitious and I am a roman catholic.

when I was a child, my favorite number was 666 since this was the only number repeated in my birthday and they say that a number in threes is extremely lucky.

only later in life did I find out what the 666 was thought to symbolize....

heck, I didn't care. it's my lucky number and Satan's not powerful enough to claim my birthday as his special day. xD

Revelations is not only specific about the problem with that number, it is specific that it is a human number anyhow, so I've never worried about it.

On the other hand, I've always tried to give exact change because zero is an infinity and getting back infinite change is just very appealing.

;-)

I'd pay the bill and get my change. If I'm feeling especially vindictive I put it on the desk of a co-worker who then wouldn't sleep for a week.

When I was in the DMV the last time I got a license plate for my car, a man came in to exchange his wife's new plate for another one. She wouldn't put it on her car because it had "666" on it.

I'm a waitress, and one time my customer's change was $6.66. He got freaked out and said I could keep the change as my tip!

That was awesome!!

I give them 7-10 dollars, take my change, then walk out of the store.
