15 is NOT TOO OLD TO BECOME AN ACTRESS,
Alot of the most established actors in the industry today decided when they were 30-45 that they wanted to pursue acting.

Start by doing student films and regional work in your area, such as independant films and anything that will put you in front of a camera. You can find these on websites such as craigslist and other FREE casting websites.

Never pay anyone for auditions, including an agent, and various casting websites, they are all scams.
Agencies take 15% of everything you make, so if you make nothing neither do they, it gives them incentive to get you jobs, also, 15% is quite a lump of a paycheck.

Student films and shorts, independant films that will hire you will not pay you, but they will most likely feed you.
And they will give you a copy of whatever you were in so you can start assembling your demo reel to give to an agency.

Get some headshots done, pay between the 80-200 dollar range for your first set, you should get three or four.

Newyork isn't really as big of a hub when it comes to screen acting, it's more of a broadway type place.
(as opposed to Hollywood and Vancouver)

Keep searching for auditions! and good luck!

P.s... Child actors never stay famous, it's the actors that come in adolescence or adults who start that stay with the industry.

It's definitely not too late for you to start gaining some acting experience.

Try out for plays at your school. Look in your local phone book and newspaper calendar listings to find out about community theatres and professional theatres in your area. Some of them might have youth theatre classes, and some might occasionally be casting teenage performers.

If there are summer theatres in your part of the state (New York has quite a few), they might have apprentice and intern programs that would help you gain valuable experience and meet professional actors who could prove to be important contacts as your career develops.

Don't expect to jump straight to movie or TV stardom. It might take some time, and a lot of hard work, to build up your skills and turn your raw talent into polished professional acting ability. It'll be worth the effort. And if you truly love acting, you'll have great fun every step of the way.

It's never too late to jump in, prior experience is always good but 15 is considered a good age to start. If you get involved now you could be discovered on 2 to 3 years then you can sign the contracts yourself take your finances and be legal! Try to find a local acting troupe and get into pplays, any paart helps! So don't be picky, even a back stage job is good experience!
Good luck in hollywood baby.

George C. Scott wasn't in a TV show until he was 31. But he still appeared in 90 TV show and movies and won an Oscar for Patton.
