I am talking about the labor and delivery aspect of it. I had a baby 3 yrs. ago with an epidural and everything went ok accept I got a fever, but I am scared to have another baby because of the horror stories I have heard. I know a girl that passed away last year after delivery because she got spinal meningitis from the epidural. My sisters son got stuck coming out vaginal because his shoulders were to wide. My friend passed out during labor because her blood pressure was to high. I know I can't live in fear, but I want to know if I am alone. Do any of you so badly want to become pregnant but you are scared or nervous about the labor and delivery? How can I overcome this?

Well there are always the "what if's". But you are right, you can't worry about these things. Something can always go wrong, but the chances are low. You have already had a baby, so you know how your body deals with the birthing process. But it is only normal to worry. But don't let this be areason for not wanting any more kids.

I have a 2 1/2 year old little girl, and didn't have an epidural and remember thinking the pain was unbearable and not ever wanting to do it again. I'm 24 weeks along right now and even though I remember those thoughts, I'm not scared. I guess it's a good thing our brains and body aren't able to recall the actual feeling of pain!

Yeah I was a litte more nervous the second time around. Probably because I knew what I was in for!!

But, labor was much shorter, and pushing her out was MUCH quicker because I knew exactly what to do and I didn't feel so inhibited (the first time, I was mortified that I might fart or poop, lol) With my 2nd, I was just like, get this OVER with. You kind of feel like an old pro the next time around.

Plus, I think I was more afraid of her health overall throughout the pregnancy. I think I worried more about my second than I did my first.

I am afraid of this birth...Im due in March...because my 1st baby got stuck (like your sisters) did, and I ended up with an emergency C section...I also passed out repeatedly during the labour...awful! The doc is keen for me to try and have this next one vaginally...I laughed at him! I am having another c section thank you vey much...if anyone tries to tell me otherwise then woe betide them!

You will most likely be fine...you did it well already! Your birth canal is probably a normal size...unlike my skimpy little effort...thank God I did not live 100 years ago! I'd be dead!
Go for it...you've forgotten how we have an inbuilt coping mechanism when we are pregnant.

#1 STOP letting people tell you horror stories. I have no idea why some people insist on telling moms to be horrible things to make them worry. It used to make me nuts. I finally would (politely) head off what I could tell was going to be a tale of terror, by saying, "I'm kind of a worrywart, please don't tell me anything that will make me worse!"
#2 Every pregnancy is scary, I was almost just as worried over my #3 as I was during my 1st. You just have to realize that you can only do so much to make sure you take care of yourself and the rest is out of your hands. Aside from the girl who died, the other situations were not "worst case scenario".

I think so cause you know what is going to happen. I just had my 2nd child 3 months ago and I was scared but just think of that beautiful baby you will soon hold in your arms and it makes it all worth while!!!
