I am pursuing a lawsuit of an accident. I recently found that my lawyer's license is on probation until 2009 because of his fraud a couple years ago. I would like to know if this lawyer is legally to do his business during the probation period?

Thank you.

Probation isnt the same thing as suspension so he should be able to practice. If you feel uncomfortable with using him, change to another attorney. Ethically I would have hoped that he would have disclosed the probation to you ahead of time.

Yes, probation means he is under scrutiny.
Contact the Bar Association in your county to verify he is still licensed to practice.

All lawyers should be on probation.
