and give me some reasons why?

my opinion is no because he's anger kinda got the better of him and he killed a lot of people even after they offered him much stuff in return.

I found your comments as to why you think not to be interesting. I agree that he gave in to anger ( and pride). But as I sit here at this computer reading your post, I can't help thinking that one aspect of the 21st century is the information age.....and all the angry, flaming, inconsiderate, hurtful posts that are exchanged online. When we do these things under the cloak of anonimity, we can seduce ourselves into believing that anger has no consequences. Odysseus can remind us that tragically, the consequences are quite real.

I probably would not have come up with this kind of response if you were sitting in a room with me and asked me this question. But seeing your question in this electronic forum got me thinking in an admittedly odd....but 21st century....way! :)

hex yes.he kicks butt.me and my class read the story and saw the movie and we all loved it and we are 12 and 11{i am 12}he is a great epic hero for any century.

james joyce' 'ulysses' is pretty much the defining epic of the twentieth century.

i think the twenty-first century is very different from the one before it, and probably needs a different hero.
