No. If you stay frequently and want a specific room, the staff generally attempt to accomodate you.

Some hotels shut down certain areas or floors for maintenance and such.

There is no law, rule or what have you to name as a source because such a thing doesn't exist. It's Hollywood, they make their own rules.

No hotel is required to give you a room of choice, or ANY room, for that matter. Of course, it would not make sense for them to do so, but they are under no obligation to rent anything to you, as long as they're not discriminating.

Some folks request the same room over and over again.
If you ask nice I dont see why not..
