Not likely because you are not ovulating the day your period is due. Use condoms and you wouldn't have to worry about it or a disease.

You have a lot of questions here, so let's break it down.
1. Can you get pregnant the day your period is due?
The difficulty with this question is there's no way to pinpoint exactly when your period will start; even if you have fairly regular periods, there is still some variation that you can't predict for. Regardless, you can get pregnant by having sex without some form of contraception on any day of your cycle; there's no 100% effective way to avoid pregnancy by using only the rhythm method.
2. Would you have gotten pregnant in the middle or end of September/Can you subtract 9 months from your due date to get the date of conception?
Doctors calculate due dates in various ways, but generally speaking, they are described in terms of weeks from your last menstrual period. Note that says nothing about when the actual date of conception was; it could be any time during the cycle following that last period. If your due date is June 21-27, that would be considered your 40th week after your last menstrual period, putting your last menstrual period at October 15th, so if you had a positive test October 12th, something isn't lining up correctly here. How was your due date determined? If there's any confusion about this, your doctor would usually order an ultrasound to find an approximate date by measuring the fetus. Even if we could conclusively establish a due date or last period date, that wouldn't give any conclusive evidence of what specific day the conception occurred. Ovulation would typically be two weeks later than the last menstrual period, but that can vary by several days in either direction, and there's not even any certainty that the day that you had sex is the same day that you concieved, since the sperm can survive for a few days afterward. If we go by the last period date of Aug. 20, then conception probably occurred in early September; if we go by the due date, it probably occurred around the middle of October, which can't be possible if you already tested pregnant by then.
3. How do you know when you ovulate?
Well, you're pregnant, so you won't be ovulating until you have the baby, and maybe even a while after that, especially if breastfeeding. There's no way of knowing when you ovulated that led to this pregnancy for sure. In the future, there are ways you can see if ovulation is likely to occur--urine tests that detect hormones, and cervical mucus tests, for example, but even then they aren't definitive, just guidelines.

You ovulate mid-cycle, and the egg is only good for 12-24 hours and then it's not fertilizable anymore. By the time your period is due there is nothing to fertilize. Take your due date and subtract 40 weeks, and that's the first day of your last period. Take your due date and subtract 38 weeks, and that's the estimated conception date.

Your doctor can measure the fetus and give you an estimation...also you can have a quantitative HCG test done to estimate how far along you are.
