2 answers

y=x^2 +2x -15
y= (x+5)(x-3)
zeroes at x= -5, 3

so symmetry at x=-1

1/8(x-3)^2 =5
(x-3)^2 = 5 * 8

(x-3) = √40
x= √40 + 3
