Which person does more work? Which person produces more power?

They both do the same amount of work. However, the one who did the work in the smaller amount of time produced the most power.

Both people do the same amount of work. The physics definition of work is "A force acting on an object to cause it to move". If both objects are equal in weight and the distance which both objects move is also equal than the work required to get both people to the top of the stairs is equal. The definition of power in physics is how much work can be completed in a cerain amount of time. In order for the first person to move up the stairs faster the same amount of force must be used but it is used in less time. Therefore person #1 produces more power but equal work or force as person #2.
