okay so,
just a quick question.

i am doing an experiment to see how long trypsin and amylase break down compunds.

but how would i know when its finished breaking it down.
do i add iodine? and if so what would i see?

please help im so confused and its important.

I believe you could see bubbles forming, just because the protein/carbohydrates are breaking down...

you know when it is finished breaking down when it stops getting smaller. or u can use radioactive dating which you use iodine to find the half life. that is really complicated stuff. i would ask a teacher or an expert to help. u need a labratory for that sort of stuff. our ap bio class went to the lab in stonybrook to do something like this.

depends what compound is being broken down. You need to test for whatever chemical is being broken down... or what it's being broken into.
