I remember a time when there weren't that many. For example, where I live in Southern California, All of Orange County and some of Riverside County was 714, LA was 213 and Burbank-area was 818. Now there are at least 5 more, that I'm aware of!!

I remember a time before dial phones. We had to tell the operator the number. In my town we could just tell the operator whom we were calling. (And there was no TV until I was about 12 or 13 yrs. old. I grew up listening to the radio.)

I sure do, along with the dial phone. Remember when they were all black and heavy as a cement block?!! The first two numbers in our phone # was actually letters.
