It depends how anaemic you are! And what type of anaemia you have. If you're talking about iron deficiency anaemia (the most common type), it means that you are lacking in red blood cells, which carry oxygen around our bodies. This leads to low energy levels, and reduces our body's ability to carry out normal functions (like repairing damage, and keeping us going).

Thankfully, for most of us, taking iron supplements is all that is needed to increase our red blood cell count, and put us back on the road to good health. However, you need to know why you are anaemic - as some underlying conditions can cause this. Or it can be due to dietary deficiency, in which case your diet will need to be altered.

Is Being Anemic Serious

There are three general causes of anemia:

Decreased red cell production by the bone marrow

Increased red cell destruction, or hemolysis

Blood loss from heavy menstrual periods or internal bleeding

When you're anemic, your body either produces too few healthy red blood cells, or destroys them faster than they can be replaced or loses too many of them. If your diet lacks certain vitamins and minerals, the production of hemoglobin can slow down. types of anemia caused by decreases in red cell production include iron deficiency anemia and vitamin deficient anemia. If something in the body destroys or attacks red blood cells, the bone marrow tries to produce more blood. If the destruction of red blood cells is rapid, the marrow can't catch up. This problem is often inherited. The resulting anemia is called hemolytic anemia.

How white are we speaking approximately on your palms ? intense discoloration of the arms, the two white or blue is often happening as Raynaud's phenomenon, that could properly be via itself or secondary to countless autoimmune ailments, nevertheless your indications don't extra healthy any, aside from Pernicious anemia (concern soaking up nutrition B12) or perhaps hemolytic anemia, nevertheless i think of you will have observed brown urine and yellow epidermis/eyes if so. melancholy can contemporary with fatigue and desirous to sleep 12 or extra hours an afternoon yet would not clarify your coldness, epidermis colour. initiate taking iron, and supplements B-6, B-12, C (nutrition C helps in absorption of iron), and Folic Acid considering anemia in all probability is an precise prognosis (nevertheless once you're male, have a balanced weight loss software, and are not bleeding continuously, why you have it fairly is yet another tale). A multivitamin is in all probability a thank you to flow in this. If its mono, that is going to truly is going away via itself, and it fairly is something the physician could desire to order an antibody attempt for. devour intense-protein nutrition. stay hydrated. attempt to push your self to get some workout. And return on your physician.

Anemia can be serious depending on the severity but it's pretty easy to fix. Increase the iron in your diet and ask for a few regular blood tests to be sure your red blood cells are increasing. If they are not - there could be an underlying problem.

It depends on the source of the anemia. General low iron levels with no other symptomatology can be easily remedied with supplements. If the source of the anemia is an underlying disease than this can be more serious obviously.
