The only thing that pops off the top of my head are the dice -- the Ludi -- that Horace denounced and Terrance seemed to think were so glamorous. I'll link to the Wikipedia page on dice where they talk specifically about Rome. Hnefatafl, alas, while a really cool game, was not only german it developed after the Empire fell. It's still worth playing and I'm told there is an online java game somewhere. Chess also didn't make it to the west during the empire to my knowledge. I'm providing a link to a similar game to chess called Latrunculi. They had several games which were like backgammon, so I'm linking to that page.
Finally I'm providing a link to a general page on Roman Board Games which has been up for so many years it has actually moved since I first found it. I know, I'm guessing what kinds of games you're talking about as much as the others are rather than asking you, but it seems so logical and besides -- they didn't have gaming consoles back then.

The Roman Colosseum was actually designed by putting the plans for a single Roman theatre in mirror image. Typically the Roman theatres were semi-circular. The Colosseum was not so much a theatre as an arena for spectacular events. The original Greek theatres had circular playing areas called orchestras. The theatre of Dionysus in Greece today was actually modified after the Roman influence. The audience in a Greek theatre surrounded two thirds of the circle.

If you meant the Olympic games, they used to compete naked back in the early days. If you meant Roman, nobody fights to the death or gets eaten by wild animals.
