Why so many new fragrances?

Have anybody else noticed that a lot of people have colognes and perfumes now. e.g. hilary duff, antonio bandares, usher, diddy, mariah carey,. Is it like "fragrance season"?

well they've always have had those fragrances, but since its x-mas season, media tends to advertise them for holiday sales
