I'm searching for a college that has really good music programs, mostly on the band side, but a good choral program is optional. (I am asking on here because I dont want to filter through all the crap that search engines pull up.)

I am looking for a school that has a repitoir for music. I would prefere it to be a public college, as they tend to cost less, but if you know of a good private one, please tell me!

If possible provide a link to the school's website, or tell me where i can find more information.
Thanks!

I can only point to schools in my area (Ohio) and some other schools I know of due to outstanding reputation

Bowling Green State University In Ohio has a college devoted to musical arts and a fantastic facility (not to mention the new Wolfe Center for the Performing Arts being built across the street from the College of Musical Arts.) It is the most prolific music school in Ohio. Great facilities, great history and a wide variety of musical opportunities.

Akron University - great faculty, big program. Another large school of music with a good reputation.

Capital University (Columbus, Ohio) - It is private and small, but has some of the most well-known faculty in the world including prolific band composer and outstanding band teacher Jim Swearingen.

Other public schools with great reputations include Indiana University, and the University of North Texas.

There are more out there (Ithaca, Eastman, etc.), I hope more people answer you to give you good information.

You may want to consider the Berklee School of Music, the Peabody Conservatory, or the Eastman School of Music (unfortunately all three are private, I believe).

The University of Georgia has a great band.

The Redcoat Band is what they're called. I don't know so much about their chorus program.
