The Devil was conjured up by the early Christians to scare little children and to hopefully keep the newly hoodwinked, brainwashed Pagans from straying back to the old ways..
He is the Christian scape-goat for everything, the Devil made me do it, or my favourite, when dealing with us Pagans they tell us that we are being deceived by the Devil, and that Witchcraft is the work of the Devil...
If I had a dollar for every time I have been called a Devil worshipper, I would be a rich man, funny that we Pagans don't believe in the Devil, but we get accused of being in league with him..
Blessings.. )O(

The Devil is a title given to the supernatural being, who, in mainstream Christianity, Islam, and other religions, is believed to be a powerful, evil entity and the tempter of humankind. In mainstream Christianity, God and the Devil are usually portrayed as fighting over the souls of humans, with the Devil seeking to lure people away from God and into Sheol. The Devil commands a force of lesser evil spirits, commonly known as demons.

He was god's right hand man in heaven, but he was extremely proud of his job and thought of himself better than everyone else including God. The angel Michael and the army of god had a war with the devil and his followers. The devil was cast in to the earth and banished from heaven. God told him he could rule Hell where non followers of God burn eternally for disbelieving in him. He is a deceiver, a liar, and the prince of darkness.
