Because the republicans can't agree on what they want. For 6+ years they ran the house and the senate and the presidency and did absolutely nothing - now the democrats have the congress, the president agrees with what they want done, but the republicans can't get on board!

Prices haven't dropped, but profits have risen.
It's a win-win situation for the Right. They can keep Big Business happy by doing nothing, while keeping the White Frighters happy by beating the anti-immigration drums--and then blame it all on the Democrats.
And, as much as they talk about amnesty, it won't happen. Employers can only get away with wage and hour violations and poor working conditions BECAUSE the workers are illegals. Take that away and there's no profit in it.

Why would they build the fence only to tear it back down again when the United States, Canada and South America all become a union like they have in Europe? Have you never hear of the New World Order? Hillary Clinton has been observed going to meeting which advocate this very thing. It is happening and the the UN will have sole power to govern everyone eventually. Check out this movie. It is 1 1/2 hours long, but it is the best time you will have spent. If nothing else, you will get some entertainment out of it.

I guess the first question is really what would you have them HUMANELY do? There are a few things we need to consider here. Nobody likes to remember the fact that laws take time to pass and sometimes even longer to implement. I’m a fierce independent and by no stretch of the imagination a fan of Bush, Jr. or Sr. However, you need to be a little more up to date before you can ***** about the current state of affairs. Bush DID just sign into effect a reconstruction of the fence that rides the US-Mexican border, something to the effect of 780 miles long, which is higher and more impervious then the current one. Second of all, the most stringent immigration laws in the world exist in our country....RIGHT NOW. If you don’t believe me, get on a plane to England, get off a train in Manchester and hop a flight to Shannon Ireland. When you get through the multi-point checkpoints and FINALLY board the plane you'll have a more gratifying knowledge of everything the USA IS doing for security. Thirdly, lets not forget that if it weren't for our asshole Spaniard counterparts and for the Portuguese land mongers that came here close to 300 years ago, and the 3.5 million Irish, welsh, English, Portuguese, Polish, Italian and Russian families that emigrated here at the turn of the century onwards before immigration laws were even constituted then we wouldn’t be here right now. The problem isn’t illegal immigration; the problem is the system that poorly processes these immigrants in their native countries and the lack of knowledge on how to legally go about becoming a legal immigrant. You cant chastise someone for wanting to evade a government that torments, assassinates, mames, tortures and kills entire neighborhoods (i.e. Cuba and various south American countries, not to mention Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Chechnya Yugoslavia and other soviet satellite countries). However, there is a system that is imperfect which does need to be resolved. What does not need to happen is the torment of individuals who are only trying to better their lives and provide for their families. And can we please not forget, it was not illegal immigrants that attacked us on September 11. I have brothers and sisters that died in both buildings trying to save innocent peoples lives, so I know to well the horror of that day. I also know that the people who hijacked the planes were people that were ALREADY in this country.....LEGALLY, so to take out hysterical aggression on an entire group of unrelated and innocent people because of what a different group of people did is proposterous, ludicris and outright racist and elitist. If you want to argue policy, argue policy, if you want to spread evangelical elitist and racist propaganda, please dont do it here. Though an immigrant may be guilty of being illegal they are not guilty of anything else. We support our constitution which provides ALL Humans with inalienable rights, which is why we go to places like RWANDA and Somolia, these rights dont end at our back door either, they begin at our borders and move outward. Even if an immigrant is guilty of not going through the legal and just process to come to this country, that does not give anyone the right to treat that person less then human and certainly does not give anyone the right to treat that person like a Terrorist just because you yourself are paranoid. Paranoia does not equate to another human being guilty of anything. -Mitch

Well, let's see:
Who likes illegal immigrants? Big business, and big business has a lot of control over politics. If their is any potential for them to be voting in the future, both parties are going to want illegals supporting them as well. Their are also a handful of citizens that aren't terribly bothered by them (like myself).
Who doesn't like them? Anyone that competes with them for jobs or social programs. Anyone that pays into social programs. And the racists that just hate anyone that isn't pale white.
These groups of people exist in both parties, their is no concensus and this issue does not cleanly fit into either party's platform. The last two attempts to resolve this failed, because no compromises could be reached, the government was just wasting time arguing, much like all the people do.

Chernoff has stated they will bo ahead and build vs what the landowners watn and courts will rule in his favor. There are several areas where they have resoumed.
i have never mentioned this but in 2001 voer 30 million came here on the deal with hve with 25 (27) other countries where they can just come in for 90 days and tour. One of the things that make this bad is countries like England that let everyone in, then they get a British passport and come over. You got to love it!

Because both political parties have too much to lose by keeping out illegal immigrants. The Republicans will not support stricter laws because an influx of immigrants will provide cheap labor for their business interests and the Democrats won't do anything, because that is where they get their votes.

The hidden, long-term goal is for the U.S., Mexico, and Canada to be one financial bloc, as well as one country. By not doing anything about illegals flooding over the border, the day that comes to pass will be all that much sooner.
It progresses the unstated agenda, so the powers in office don't want to do anything to stop it.

Because if we look at the bigger picture of next to free labor, our own big businesses control our government. Therefore we cannot cut off the supply of less than 5 per hr. labor. It is not about illegal immigrants, it is about the modern day slave trade market.

Our country is being run by the huge companies that control our government....that's why they love the cheap labor. They don't have to worry about the cost's involved...we the taxpayers take care of that.
