I recently bought 5 white cloud minnows - they were all set up in their tank, and they were very happy, schooling together and eating normally...in the past few days, however, they have been acting peculiar...one of the females (who looks noticeably pregnant) has been swimming around erratically, and pretty much pushing the other fish in to a corner behind some of the plants in the tank...
Usually, there are three minnows in the corner, one floating very close to the top of the tank, and the female who swims around the rest of the tank...
The female has bright colors, while the rest seem washed out and pale...also, that female is the one who is eating pretty much all of the food...
What should i do? Should the female be removed from the tank? or is this typical behavior for WCM's when one is pregnant? Please Help!!!

your best bet is to seperate her from the others. after the pregnancy and the little fish are larger you can put them back in the community

If this is a new tank you should check the Ammonia levels.
Egg-layers can't be pregnant,by definition, the eggs are fertilized externally. She may be egg-bound,but can't be pregnant.
One other item, what's the temperature in the tank? WCMs are cold water fish.

i am vety experienced with fish, especially white clouds, this has happened to me, remove the female for 2-3 weeks, no shorter, her memory should lapse and forget all about bullying other fish, this worked for me and then return her if it happens again repeat this process, if it happens a 3rd time, take her back to the shop, and yeah pregnant fish do become mega-agressive, good luck.
