include some antiseptic wipes (get em at Boots) to keep yourself, your baby and your wound clean - and don't let anyone touch your dressing till you've seen him/her clean their hands. Good Luck

i had a c section with my son and when i went into the hospital it was not to be like that but it happened there was no way around it and alls that i brought to the hospital with me was a bag that had an extra pair of cloths for me and a night gown and a robe the hospital usually puts a shirt and socks on the baby and a hat if you want the baby in a out fit then bring on with you but member at the same time he/she will be wraped in a blanket and he/she will be warm no matter what so all in all i did not bring much with me when you go to leave you gonna need a car seat (duhh i no) blankets ect and cloths to put the baby in so anyways good luck and it will be ok it is not as bad as it sounds been there........congrats and good luck

I've had 2 c sections you will be fine just a little sore for a couple of months.
You will be in for about 5 days so you will need.
Plenty of the big thick sanitary towels
5 days worth of clothes and nightware for you and baby
Nappies
Toiletries
Dressing gown and slippers
Breast pads
I took some food supplies they never feed you enough in hospital.
Take a book or magazines or a puzzle book it can be quite boring between visiting
Anything else you might want to take

Nappies, wipes, vests, babygrows, a little hat. Toothbrush, toothpaste, face wipes and deodorant. I was told to bring peppermint cordial to help with getting wind out of my stomach after the op. Also, biggish knickers, they need to be higher than where your c-section scar will be to stop your knickers catching it. I've had 2 c-sections, the first was an emergency one and not a very nice experience, but the second was planned, and much calmer. Good luck and enjoy your baby!

i had a c section and if you dont remember anything else, dont forget the camera!! i did and i regreat it! make sure you bring loose clothing to wear home and loose granny panties, you are not going to want to wear anything that fits snug for a while. shampoo, soap, toothpast and tooth brush, anything you would take for an overnight visit. for the baby, a warm blanket, going home clothes, car seat and lots and lots of love!!! if you are a first time mom, there is a book out there called "what to expect the first year." it is the sequal to what to expect when your expecting these are both awsome books!! make sure you bring something to read or to ocupie your time when you are not with the baby or when the baby is sleeping. lots of luck and enjoy that baby while you can!! they grow up soo fast and before you know it, your baby is an independent little person!

all the usual baby stuff but i would recommend taking a pair of jogging pants with a high waist so they do not cut into your scar and pack some jumbo sanitary towels as the ones they give you in hospital are like nappies.you will also need some huge bridget jones pants as you will bleed quite a lot. a very roomy pair of slippers is handy to have as my feet swelled up like elephants after all 3 of my kids and i couldnt get my feet into my slippers..also take a dark coloured dressing gown!

CAMERA!!! Borrow a video cam if you need to. Don't have anyone film the icky part, just when the dr. holds up the baby and says, It's a girl!! Lots of film when you're first holding baby and dad first changing baby's diaper.

You'll need several nightgowns, and your choice of sanitary pads (theirs are old-fashioned and thick). You need shampoo, bodywash, etc. Just like you were going on a weekend trip. Don't forget your slippers.

If you're going to nurse, lots of moms like the boppy pillow (or something like that). It helps get the child in position to nurse without you having to hold him/her up. This may be helpful esp at first.

Bring lotion, several changes of clothes for baby. I didn't use the hosp's clothes at all, just because it was so much fun to dress my baby. Lots of diaper pads to use while nursing, and nursing bras and pads.

Snacks, soda, whatever you might need between meals.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Enjoy your child!!

what you would pack anyway..and comfy pants so they dont hurt your scar, and wipes for yourself so you can wash your face as you might not be able to move for a few hours.i was fine personally, and keep to your pain killers regardless,as trying to get rid of the pain is harder.
good luck and i was fine after my section 14 weeks ago...its such a distant memory now.i was driving not long after too.but try not to do too much!.
