Can some one enlighten me, what the process is to transfer my songs from my ipod back into my itune's library? As I have erased my music library by accident. Merry Christmas to all of you.

Transferring Music:
>>> MAKE SURE that your iTunes is set to [MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC] <<<

Method #1:
[Note: I have no personal experience with this method]
If ALL of your music was purchased from the iTunes Music Store then Apple has a step by step solution: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300173

Method #2:
Download iDump or any other similar software from download.com (for free).

Method #3:
[This method does not require third party software or an internet connection. This method will transfer ALL songs, photos and videos from iPod to computer; use Method #2 to transfer specific songs. Playlists will not transfer.]

> Connect iPod to computer.
> [Start]
> [My Computer]
> Double click [iPod drive]
> [Tools]
> [Folder Options]
> [View]
> Select [Show Hidden Files & Folders] and click [OK]
> Right click [iPod Control] folder.
> Select [Properties]
> Un-select [Hidden] and click [OK]
> Select [Apply Changes To This Folder, Subfolder And Files] and click [OK]
> Open [iPod Control] folder.
> Open [Music] folder.
> You will notice folders labeled F00, F01, F02, F03, etc.
> Place iTunes side by side w/ this window. Make sure that [Music Library] is displayed.
> In iTunes select [Edit> Preferences> Advanced] and put a check next to:

You got a big problem right there, but I have the same problem a few weeks back, I format my computer but all my music was with my iPod, I use a program called iPodRip which basically sends all the music back to your computer, and it recreates by himself your playlist on iTunes so you dont have to build that again, the only problem is that i did it with my macintosh, Im guessing you have a Windows PC, but there are programs for PC too I make a little research and found this E-Z Soft iPod to PC Transfer on version tracker and its free just click in the link to download it. Hope this helps. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/138670

If you are using Mac, you can try yamipod, it's a free 3rd party software, and will copy songs from ipod to computer.
If you are using Windows, you can use iPod Copy Expert, it can copy songs and import playlists to your itunes
