The answer is 594.

Here is how you find it:

First, divide the figure into 2 sections: Section 1 is the fully rectangular portion, and Section 2 is the remainder of the figure (the angled portion).

Section 1) 7m x 6m x 9m = 378 cubic meters
Section 2) ((15m-7m) x 6m x 9m) / 2 = 216 cubic meters.

Add these 2 volumes to get the total volume of 594 cubic meters.

The reason you divide the second section is because it is only half the volume that it would be if it were completely rectangular (try to picture that in your mind).

Hey don't worry this is pretty easy. Imagine the shape as two separate pieces. First the rectangular box that stretches from the left edge to seven meters to the right. Now take a great big knife and cut the shape straight down at that seven meter mark.

Now you are left with the box on the left that is 6m high, 7m wide and 9m deep; and this weird triangular thing (it is called a triangular prism) on the right that is 6m high, 15-7=8m wide and 9m deep.

Now the problem is simple:
Get the volume of the box:
height * width * depth
6 * 7 * 9 = 378 meters cubed

Get the area of the triangular prism:
height * width / 2 = area of triangle
area of triangle * depth = volume of triangular prism
6 * 8 / 2 = 24 meters squared
24 * 9 = 216 meter cubed

Now just add the areas together:
Area of box(or rectangular prism) + Area of triangular prism = total area
378 + 216 = 594 meters cubed

There you have it not too hard!
594 meters cubed or
594m^3
(Don't forget your units)

Hope this helps! :)

divide it into 2 pieces. the one on the left is a rectangular solid, 6 x 7 x 9. The other is half a rectangular solid 6 x 8 x 9.
So the volume = 6 x 9 x (7 +1/2(8)) = 6 x 9 x 11 = 594

Divide the shape into 2 sections:
1. a rectagular box that is 6 x 7 x 9
2. a triangular shape box that is:
..... 6 (at one end) x 8 (15 - 7 = 8) x 9
3. find the volume of each of these and add them up

The rectangular box volume is 6 x 7 x 9 = 378

The triangular shape volume can be figured by finding the volume of a box that is 6 x 8 x 9 and cutting that in half.
(6 x 8 x 9) / 2 = 216

378 + 216 = 594

Convert the figure to a box of dimensions 6x7x9 and half a box of dimensions 6x8x9. The answer is then 6x7x9 + i/2 6x8x9 = 594.

There is a rectangle and a pyramid in there. Find those and solve for both. Add them together, there's your answer.
