My Betta babies are in danger. Two of my Betta babies died because they had a disease called "Ick" I don't know why because it froms over night. Before I went to bed last night I fed them and they all seemed fine but then when I got home from school today, I see one of them floating dead at the top of the tank with white fuzz covered around them and it's fins are all torn. I don't know if they were fighting or not. I don't think so because I don't see any signs of fighting or any actual fighting. I have this brown mold growing in my tank and I keep cleaning it but it still gorws back. Are the babies dieing off because of that? I don't know. Please help me. EXPERIENCED BETTA EXPERTS ONLY!

The white stuff you describe doesn't sound like "ich",it sounds more like fungus which is usually a secondary symptom following an injury or something like Ammonia burns. You don't say how old the Bettas are,but if it is a growing group of fry,at some point they will begin to fight and will need to be isolated.
"Ich" looks like individual "grains of salt" sticking to the fishes sides and fins.

Ick may have been transmitted between them, but you describe it like a foam or fuzz around it. Ick looks like little specks of salt on the fish. If you see it on any of the other fish you need to treat the tank for Ick and you can get a treatment at a fish store. If the fins were all torn up that means either it died from being bullied over night or while it was dieing the other fish were attacking it. As for the brown mold it may actually be brown algae. Do a water change and clean the tank even the decorations.

you dont have to buy another tank just go to walmart or petsmart and buy a gold fish bowl and she would be happy that way she can eat and don't worry about gettin attacked! If a female that wasn’t ripe, or ready for spawning, would have entered a males tank, it’s possible that she would’ve been attacked, as non-ripe females are not tolerated within the vicinity of the nest. By not fleeing, a female indicates her readiness to spawn. Yes, some times if you are not careful when trying too breed bettas, the male will attack the female and he can injure the female, the females are much smaller than the males. A Male and a Female: In the wild, females stay clear of males, except during mating. When cohabiting in tanks, males might kill females, and are generally kept apart unless (a) they are juvenile siblings, (b) they are breeding, (c) there is a partition, or (d) the tank is large enough for the female to escape attack. Often, before breeding, breeders use such a container to allow female display without risking harm by the male. Two or more Females: Bettas are not schooling fish, but in a large tank with many hiding spaces, female bettas can cohabit. When two females share a tank, one usually bullies the other, however, four or more females will establish a hierarchy allowing peaceful co-existence, nevertheless, females living in community must be monitored for aggressive females.

Beta fish are fighting fish, never ever put two in the same tank. As to the condition of the fish, try calling your local pet store that sells beta fish, there are water conditioners that can help prevent everything pretty much from alge to "skin" conditions. You can add a couple snails and frogs to the beta's tank to keep it cleaner as well as changing the water and cleaning the tank regularly. On a small note, I've gone through aobut 6 snails and 1 frog in the year I've had my fish.
Good luck!

it's actually velvet(mostly due to food waste)But is amongst the biggest killer of fry.
Explaining all the fuzzez/velvet&ichs will take forever, but if you are interested(mail me)You need as well as treatment new/clean equpment(habitat thouroughly cleaned&steralised/or new set up)or this will keep occuring.
You need to syphon every night.Water need to be clean.
Is the tank near light(sun)some is good/as is a little algae(as their tiny mouths can peck@it)The rest must be removed!
YOU NEED TO STOP&START OVER(over feeding protein can also cause swim bladder in fry(death)fungus will grow on carcass(tiny molecules spread to next one)
TOO MUCH TO TELL YOU.(like i said.if interested-contact)
