A couple of days ago my computer got infected by a virus. I did a bunch of cleaning things, etc, but now, a few problems remain that I can't get rid of!
1) Sometimes, as I open and close the internet browser, everything (all icons and the blue taskbar at the bottom) disappears and then reappear a few seconds later. This is getting extrmely annoying.

2) My system restore cannot go back to previous months anymore.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

In reverse order

2) Many viruses will clean all restore points to before they installed to make it harder to remove them. That is probably why they are missing.

1) The Desktop icons are refreshed every few cycles on your PC. Each one has to be re-read into the computer's memory. Doing that is a low priority task. If there are a lot of other things going on, the computer will delay re-reading the icons. That may cause them to disappear until the computer has time to reload them.

Since this started happening after you were infected by a virus, I would suspect that you have not successfully cleaned the entire virus. It may still be running in the background, causing the delay.

As you did not state the virus, or exactly how you cleaned it, I can not give you suggestions on wht else to try. (Sorry)
