It's as easy as calling the college registrar and asking "did Harold Hill born Jan 2, 1888 get a degree in music from your school in '06"

if they want to know about your grades, etc... then they ask for a transcript. Most places only care that you have the degree.

The usual process is to ask you for a copy of your transcript. That will list the courses you took, grades, and dates attended. It's pretty standard. You should probably contact your school and get a copy before you start applying for jobs, because most everyone will ask for it.

Yes they can request transcripts from you unofficial and official. You would be listed as "degree received" or degree issued and all your classes and all your grades will be on your transcripts. Even how long you went to school will be listed. Its very simple to find these things.

In my field they ask for a offical transcript with your graduation date on it but that is after you are hired. So bad grades won't stop you from getting a job. also only HR sees that your supervisor does not have access to that

There are several ways. They can request transcripts from you or your school. Or they can look on a nationally accredited database which shows all the degree holders in the U.S.

They have to get you to provide the info, it's as simple as that. If you can't furnish the transcript, they can fire you, or even sue you to reclaim all your pay over the years.
