After we start drilling on our own soil in our own vast reserves, and building a couple of new refineries.

Oh wait. I forgot. We aren't allowed to because the environuts wont let us become self sufficient.

Nevermind.

The only way gas will drop below $3 a gallon is if the supply were to increase, everyone started using other methods of transportation, or if gas companies got less greedy. I doubt any of these will happen.

diverse solutions for this one: a million) rising markets, including China and India, competing for an identical product (furnish and demand). 2) loss of refining features. The U.S. hasn't positioned a clean refinery online because of the fact the early 1980's. Our "NIMBY" society won't enable shape of recent refineries, for this reason, previous and inefficient refineries at the instant are not basically overworked, yet they are companies to short and long term shutdowns in simple terms do to their age. 3) Speculators. Crude oil and that is byproducts are commodities that are traded on an open industry. whilst any worldwide adventure that could or won't have an result on the oil industry occurs, speculators start up bidding up the oil expenditures. those value hikes are exceeded directly to the customer. 4) They ain't making any extra crude oil. whilst it fairly is long previous, it fairly is long previous! The oil companies are entitled to make a income whilst there continues to be a product to make funds off of. reason whilst it fairly is long previous, it's going to be long previous!

You lucky lucky people.

In the UK it's over £5 a gallon. With the exchange rates at the moment it works out at about $9 a gallon.

The wonderful British government and their love of taxation.

Bunch of @r$e, I say ;-)

with prices like your paying, no wonder the world is on melt-down. Come to United Kingdom, you'll freeze on the spot for the prices we are paying. £1 a litre.

It will continue to rise as long as people keep buying it at the same rate. We are the victims of people who buy gas guzzling vehicles and who waste gas by racing on our highways, I think one of the biggest wastes is by parents who drive their kids to school instead of letting them ride a bus. What a waste of gas.

I paid $2.86 yesterday getting gas in Maryland. I'd be happy with gas under $2.50 right now.
