In my experience of watching the political process I've come to the conclusion that ANY political party is owned by special interest groups. Everybody has an agenda whether they like to admit it or not. I know plenty of poor republicans and rich democrats despite the popular belief that it's the other way around. Al Gore is not a poor man and I'll bet he's not giving much money away even though he claims to be a democrat. I find that as I get older I tend to be a bit more moderate than I used to be (I used to lean left). The wealthy, be they democrat, republican, or whatever, will do what they have to do to protect their assets, as would anybody - rich or poor. Since the wealthy own the media they are able to greater influence the population to "see things their way". It's all a money game.

BOTH THE REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS ARE A LIKE.THEY ARE BOTH OWNED BY THE WEALTHY.THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS LIKE TO PAY OFF THE POLITICIANS TO VOTE IN THEIR FAVOR.IF POLITICS IS SO BAD THEN WHY DO THEY ALL FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER FOR THEIR SEATS.BECAUSE THEY WANT TO WIN A SEAT SO THAT THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS WILL FILL THEIR POCKETS WITH ALL KINDS OF MONEY.AFTER THEY HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FROM PAY OFFS THEN THEY WANT TO RESIGN OR QUIT.THATS WHY THEY DON;T WANT TO GET RID OF THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS.BECAUSE IF THEY DID THAT THEY WOULD;NT BECOME RICH FAT CATS.SO GO DADDY GO.THATS THE AMERICAN WAY SCREW OVER YOUR OWN PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF MONEY.

If they were then how come "so many poor" voted in the last election for a Republican candidate. Some Republicans must be rich but, not all.
