If you want a business to grow, you must first spend the money to invest in future growth. The idea here is the same, invest in future growth to see a higher income later.
If you invest nothing into the economy for future growth, you will get stagnation. This is what happened to Jimmy Carter, though the lack of investment had been a problem for a long time before he came to office.
You must plant a seed to get a plant. That's why.

You hit the nail on the head. It's like the Republicans are tuned to a different channel. They spin everything to make any non-Republican look bad. They pretend to take the moral high ground, because it appeals to the masses, and a vast group of people will vote their religious beliefs. Yet this moral high ground is a hoax. If it weren't, the Republicans wouldn't have voted against the bill that holds Haliburton employees accountable when they commit rape overseas. They represent the minority of wealthy people, and need to do all they can to tip the scales in their favor. The top 2% own half the world's wealth, and half the world's population live on less than $2.50 a day.

Because they increase military spending by a lot and lower taxes on the rich by a lot, at the same time. It is even worse under the bush admin. because he has prosecuted a couple of wars at the same time that he had taxes cut by his republican congress.

Gee. Funny you should ask this question. USA Today
The 20 freshman members of Congress who had the most special-interest spending, or "earmarks," in the House and Senate spending bills. This includes only spending items with a single sponsor, not multiple sponsors.

All of these people are democrats who promised to cut spending. Care to explain your logic of your question?

Because they will spend to keep our nation strong, and they are stuck with also funding the welfare state developed by ever Dem. ever in office!! At least when a Rep. leaves office the next guy can stop spending on what the Rep. was, but welfare only grows worse!!!

Why do people seem to think that big deficits are automatically bad? And why does a large deficit seem to mean you don't care about the national debt? Let me put it to you like this: if we need to borrow X amount of dollars to do Y, we borrow X amount of dollars to do Y, or we do nothing.

Because Dems want to increase Gov services, but are willing to raise taxes in order to do it.

Reps want to spend money where they want (usually military and such) but also want ot reduce taxes at the same time.

Dems = Tax and Spend
Reps = Less taxes and Spend

it's the nature of the beast. Republicans give tax breaks and spend like drunken sailors then accuse Democrats of raising taxes when all they are doing is trying to mop up the mess that was left to them.
