halo 3 being called game of the decade sounds stupid to me i dont even think its very good anyone agree?

I'm just so sick of hearing about that STUPID Halo game franchise. It is the most overhyped game I have ever seen. And I've heard that it take just about 4-5 hours to beat the game. A game that short doesn't even have a decent story. And I've heard so many 360 owners talk about how Halo 3 was a big let down because it was so short.

I wish someone would just tell me what is so special or unique about Halo. Shooters have been around for many years and all of a sudden this Halo game comes along and it's so popular. Halo 3 wouldn't be anything without online play and that's just sad to me. Some of the best games from Sony like God of War didn't even have online play and that game is just as popular and even better than Halo 3 in my opinion.

As far as game of the decade, Halo 3 shouldn't be on that list. Halo 3 can be called the game of 2007, but not the decade.

Graphics are really good and the game is an improvement over the other games in the Halo genre.... but in my opinion, it's not that great.

I personally thing games like World of Warcraft were much more monumental in the past 10 years, and i think they deserve more of the game of the decade award.

I like FPS games, but Halo has always left something to be desired. I think that Half-Life 2 is a lot better game as far as graphical content and such, but not as good of game play as in Halo 3.

Sum it up... Halo 3 = not game of the decade!

I'm not sure who declared that, but I'd have to beg to differ. We're not even completely through this particular decade (2000-2010), and I'm pretty sure that there have been better games. Maybe not nearly as hyped up, but better. Call of Duty 4 and Mass Effect being the most recent. Even if you're talking within the past 10 years, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time came out 9 years ago, and is probably one of the best games ever made.

Halo3 is awesome because:

It came from Halo1.

The campaign is a lot of fun, a good player can beat the game on hardest difficulty in about 10 hours, but if you play with 3 of your friends you can beat the game in 4-5 hours

The Multiplayer is in-depth, balanced, dynamic, and very popular. There are a variety of gametypes to play.

You can also record your gameplay In Theatre mode, you can take pictures of awesome action moments, and upload them to your profile with the push of a button.

You can create your own levels, even remakes of old levels you miss from previous games. People can download your created levels to further edit, or simply to play.

Halo3 has a ranking system so you are always matched up against similar skilled opponents

You can drive vehicles, your friends can jump in to and shoot while you drive. You can drive a quad, many assualt vehicles, flying machines, you can even drive a mammoth sized vehicle that houses turrets, a vehicle, and your team's flag (if you are playing capture the flag)

Dozens of weapons which have their own strengths and weaknesses. You can hold two weapons at once for added short range firepower, you can mix and match short range weapons to suit your playing style.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you don't know much about a very popular game, don't diss. Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to missing out on a great game like this.

The game of the decade is starcraft, and being its 10 year anniversary in 2008, the sequel is being released. 10 years down the road I seriously doubt that halo is still going to be played as widely as starcraft still is, even online!!!!!!

I agree it shouldn't be called the game of the decade, because no; it simple isn't. The campaign story simply concludes the trilogy which is why everyone has been so hyped up about it.

I disagree with you because i think it is a good game myself, especially the online multiplayer.

I doubt that it is the game of the decade. But it was the game to make the first real standards for games to come in the shooting area. Now all the best games are shooters.
