The obit in my lousy hometown newspaper headed up the miniscule story by FIRST describing Ike as a "wife-beater." Thanks a lot, Tina! Ike is/was an absolute talent-finding genius. Without Ike, I would have never heard Howlin' Wolf. Or Jackie Brenston. Or Billy "The Kid" Emerson. Et. alia.

he was a genius, and there is a fine line between genius and madness. He was a genius who happened to be mad, and enjoyed violent displays. I still think he is a genius though.

That's what he's most remembered for. When someone says Ike Turner, the first thing that comes to mind is "wife beater". I didn't know about Howlin' Wolf and that other stuff. It would be different if that was a lie.

Your pissed that he's being remembered as a Wife-beater? Wow, he was great at finding talent , this is true but he seemed to have been better at beating his wife. Negativity always sticks out in the mind more than positivity , He was horrible to Tina and now that he's gone we should glorify him and forget what he did? I dont think so . Ike was a wife beater and a drug addict for many years , thats who he was , sorry but its true.

It really doesn't matter what Ike did in the business, who he knew and what he stood for; to America he will always be known as an abuser. It sucks, but that's how this world goes.

remember in life if you do not wish to be remember a certain way, do nothing to make people that of u being that way. Reality is a persons legacy is their own making. He made his. Dont blame the media for what he did to himself. More over who are you to blame abused for it, Very sad. and i dont mean how he is being remembered.

When i think of Ike i think beating Tina's butt...but i think he was truly sorry for what he did...we should not label people for what they did...Ike had great music and should deserve much more than the title of a Wife-beater...r.i.p Ike you will be missed.
