I used to hate them and resent the fact that I had to pay a compulsory TV licence, but now I am a changed man- I currently study film and television studies and have come to appreciate the BBC all the more - when you see the drivel on other channels and those terrible phone in shows that are on from midnight as they try to drum up some revenue and the now seemingly endless adverts ( thats not entertainment or informative!) the BBC is also not the mouthpiece of one individual and it is the envy of many other countries.

I am sick to death of the BBC. I don't have a TV, I watch 4od and ITV.com sometimes. I am now being told I need a license as I have PC. Rubbish! It does not have a TV card and I don't use an ariel. They advertise their own stuff so much they might as well just do the same as all the other main channels and go for the adverts. Pay as you view? Nobody would be interested.

Considering the rubbish I pay twice as much for on Sky as I do for the TV licence, the BBC are tip top. And I actually like their programming, mostly on 2. (Heroes, Top gear, Coast, Buzzcocks, Later...)
ITV just treat me like I'm an idiot. Phone in competiton. Which European city are sprouts named after?
Channel 4 just relies on reality shows these days and seems have lost its ability to entertain and challenge us.
I have a mate that's a cameraman at Granada. He knows nothing about cars but enjoys watching Top gear because" the editing is astonishing". Thumbs up for the production values from someone that works on the Jeremy Kyle show. Bless his ambition.
Auntie Beeb is still best by a mile. Shame it's sold it's future out by cancelling Top of the Pops. I bet it comes back along with Tomorrow's World.

Your choice - you have to pay for their services anyhow - via your TV licence!
Personally, I think they are generally carp - prefer other channels!
