A lot of health professionals advise against underwired bras as it can effect the developement of the milk glands etc which in turn could make breast feeding difficult. Personally i couldn't live without my underwires (im large up top and need the support) and they never caused me any problems, discomfort or pain. Sports bras and maternity bras are both very popular, they offer comfort but not great support. All kinds you can get in specialist bra shops, even from places like Marks & Spencers, however i find online sites like Figleaves and Bravissimo have a wider range and are easier to find what you want. I like the ranges by Panache & Fantasy, they're really comfy and more affordable then some other ranges.

Don't use an underwire. After I did I saw like a light bruising because apparently it was rubbing in and I didn't notice it. Sports bras are ok as long as they don't squish your boobs. I've heard to use Balis or Playtex. But there are maternity bras out there. You could also get a nursing bra. I have that. The kind I have isn't the best but it'll do for now. Look at Kohl's for sales on bras and also I've been told to try Victoria's Secret and have someone help you there.

I have ended up in a bra size not generally made without an underwire(32FF, ouch!!) so I have one with for now and am really not comfortable. Now that I am 25wks I am thinking of ordering a nursing bra without underwire. Non nursing bra, Fantasie brand has been the best fit for me.
To be honest if I could get away with no bra I would do it.

I always use underwire for better support. I am on baby number 4 and don't have saggy boobs because of the good bras i wear. I know they are very expensive, but I mostly wear Victoria's Secret if I can.

I would say get measured properly along the way and which ever feels best for you is right for you, if that is underwire then that is fine regardless of what the NHS says, I always ignore the State's nonsense....

My midwife advised me against wearing underwire bras. I bought cheap ones at the supermarket (sports and without wire), as the size of my boobs are changing all the time!

I always wore underwired, but thats my preference. Wear what you would normally, but get measured every 6 weeks or so cos you will need to change sizes.

I wear victoria's secret underwire full coverage. Very good with support, and you don't have to worry about "falling out".
And they're comfortable!
