Most likely means your alternator's regulator is bad. (Most these days are built into the alternator) Don't Drive the car. It will fry your battery and you'll have to get both replaced. (not to mention what it could be doing to the computer)

Your alternator cold be overcharging the battery or you could have a be indicator. Take it to your local parts store and have them test it for you.

REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY BEFORE YOU COOK THE BATTERY.
