Or just your windows and lights...

Wow! Can't believe all the answers! I didn't realize all the things that have been pointed out. I see 'driving snowballs' all the time, and never realized they cause accidents. And I've never had the stuff on the roof fall off, except in the spring when things start to melt. And I sure didn't know you could get in trouble legally. I'm in no way ignorant or someone who doesn't care, but I guess I've never been around people who brush off their entire car, so it never occured to me that there are reasons some people do it. I thought they were just perfectionists!

I personally clear the whole car. But that's me. Now I've been made aware that in some states and/or counties they can ticket you if you have snow on your vehicle(that is other then a light dusting). Considering that I always clean my car off. However my brother learned that where he was living in PA
(the Milford/Dingmans Ferry area) you can get a ticket. He did of corse there was about 10 inches of snow shifting on his roof. So maybe I can agree with ticketing officer. I personall recommend checking your local laws before crusing out of the driveway. But I liked the question and have stared you.

The whole thing. In my town, people get in accidents all the time if the person in front of them has snow on top of their car and it flies into your widshield. After a little while, it forms a layer of ice that can crack the windshields, too

The whole thing -- or at least all the pieces I can reach (I'm only 5'2") I hate it when you hit the brakes and everything from the roof comes sliding onto the window!

It depends on how much snow has fallen on it. If there's a lot...yeah, I do the whole thing, but if it's only an inch or two I don't....the wind usually blows it off when I start driving anyway.

ya, i do it all. Because it looks weird when you are driving down the street with just your wind shield and windows scraped, but then the rest of your car looks like a traveling snowball!!

Windows, lights, and the roof so it doesn't slide down when I am driving.
